Stepping Up

Support and Service

Credit unions don’t simply provide financial services—we provide financial services for the purpose of improving lives. O Bee lives by the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” While our first responsibility is to our members, being part of a cooperative movement means looking beyond our walls to the larger community. This outlook drives us to support worthwhile charitable and social causes, and to work with other credit unions to this end.

As a member-owned financial institution, O Bee Credit Union is dedicated to promoting the strength and vitality of the communities we serve. To accomplish this task, we continually seek out opportunities to offer time and resources in ways that will make a difference for the communities where our members live and work.

24 Hours Well Spent

O Bee employees are offered 24 hours of paid leave per year to volunteer in the community with all kinds of organizations. They tell us whatOBee Credit Union in Olympia Volunteers they want to do, we say, “Go for it!” Our employees lug boxes at local food banks, harvest crops, cook and sew for the homeless, organize auctions, head up committees, bundle recyclables, collect rubbish from roadsides, teach Junior Achievement in elementary schools, deliver holiday gifts, and even help to guide lost hikers from our forests. With so much good going on inside and outside our branches we can’t help but be grateful for our many dedicated staff who make O Bee, and our community, a better place. Shown here: O Bee team working with Washington Trails Association.
