A group of former Olympia Brewery employees are planning an informal summer picnic on Saturday, August 3, 2019 starting at about noon. It will be held at Tumwater Historical Park. The organizers have rented a covered picnic area for the whole day. It includes a BBQ grill, some picnic tables and several electrical plug-ins along a stainless-steel bar -- perfect for crock pots etc. It would be wise to bring chairs and anything else you’d need to be comfortable. The plan is to have everyone bring their own food and drink. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to join the fun. Reconnect with old workmates and bring the kids. O Bee is not connected to this event, but we were asked to help spread the word. Again, this is an informal event and the brewery folks organizing this hope to make it an annual event. Last years’ picnic was well attended. It’s been 17 years since the Brewery was closed and it would be nice to gather and catch up on life.
